3 days since the SMS Australian Exchange programme began. So i shall fill u in.
Tuesday First day I met nicole. I was so nervous because when i found out she played basketball, i was scared that she may be a lot taller than me. She is taller than me, but it isn't so bad. So we did some signs with their names (Nicole, Daphne, Laura, Jenna & Emily) on them and just held them up. After that we met them one by one and met the teacher as well. So i brought nicole home just to relax and unpack and get used to her 'new home' for the next 10 days. She's a really nice and pleasant girl. A bit quiet, but once you prompt a bit, she's fun to chat with. Yeah.
Wednesday The Australian girls first day of school. Dad sent me to school early, and we met the other girls there. So we had to do introduction to the school. Oh btw, their uniforms are completely differnt. It's a dress as well, but it's blue and white striped. Lolx. So we were all standing in a line on the podium and i was at the extreme right where Mrs Tay was standing. So she came up to me and told me to introduce myself first, then to introduce my host sister. So i was like "I'm going first?" I agreed to it anyway. So i went up and introduced nicole, and she was real nervous, which was real funny. :P Yeah. So at the end she was like, "And um.. i don't know what to say now so i'm gonna..." then she turned around and gestured to sharon and daphne to introduce themselves. Haha.
After school, I went to eat lunch with Laura, Kym and Nicole. We headed to Wadever cafe at coronation as Kym had cca so we didn't want to go to someplace too far. Wadever cafe has really nice food but its very small and a lot of people go there, so it's VERY crowded. Yeah, i had like popcorn chicken and a glass of lemonade with pomelo (*sry pammie!!!) Then Kym headed back to school and I took Laura and Nicole to Junction 8, explaining bits and pieces about singapore in the taxi. So yeah, we did some shopping but didn't buy much. I bought ankle socks and a skirt. Nicole bought a pencil case and a skirt and Laura bought a cute watch. Yeah. After that, I headed back to newton MRT where i 'returned' Laura to Kym. Waha.
Thursday Cross country!!! Woo-hoo!! So grandma sent me to school early to pick up Laura as Kym once again had cca. Then went to MacRitchie reservoir. The run was good. A whole 3.2 km. Haha. Laura and Jenna ran the whole thing with Mrs McKenzie, while Emily, Daphne and Nicole walked with Liwen. Germaine and I ran on our own. I won 16th place for Sec 2 cohort. Ok, nothing special, but i'm like so proud of myself!! WAHA. I actually carried my water bottle with me to run which was pretty stupid of me cause it adds on extra weight. But it did come in handy. I caught up to catherine at some point of time and kept on passing my bottle back and forth for her to sip. Lolx.
After that, I kind of got a bit of inspiration from my house captain (Jesslyn) right near the finishing line. Some uniform grp people were standing there and she started running to me and asking if i'd like her to take my water bottle. I said no and then she said something like 'Ok, after all these girls in white, you sprint the whole way, the finishing line is right there!' So i did. After jogging past the girls, i sprinted. Not as fast as Jesslyn though, cause i was still a bit sore and tired, but i made 16th place. I guess i should thank her for that. Gage-brown went on to being the champion house. Can you believe this great year?! So far gage-brown has won more or less all the events - Sport's Meet, Total Defence Day & now... Cross Country!! Excellent.
'LET ME HEAR YA GAGE-BROWN CHEER, WHAT'S THAT YOU SAY? I SAY LET ME HEAR YA GAGE-BROWN CHEER, WHAT'S THAT YOU SAY? I SAY OM, AH AH AH, OM, AH AH AH, OM, AH AH AH GOOOOOO GAGE-BROWN!!'
