A conversation with my brother made me think about something tonight:
You know God says to not indulge in earthly things, that includes human relationships. Loving loved ones is one thing, but placing it as the center of your world is probably not the best option.
For one thing, people change. And that leads to my main point is that you can never be completely and entirely satisfied in a relationship because you never really understand completely how another person operates. People have different opinions, different ways of communicating and reading messages, and different levels of control over their emotions. When there is misunderstanding, there will be a level of tension or conflict. You definitely cannot say that you're satisfied then; I mean, you're fighting.
Then when I think about God, I realise how great He is. He is the same God yesterday, today and forever more (Hebrews 13:8). He's amazing. You know like the Christian song shows - 'Your love is amazing, steady and unchanging'. He's always the same loving, understanding God, who will never change.
It's like when the world doesn't understand you, God does.
And that's why, like today's daily bread tells, we can walk into another new year without fear. Why?
Because He walks with us; even better, He leads us. =)
